MGB-6 presents geohazards to government info officers

MGB-6 continues its advocacy on greater awareness of geohazards to help prevent loss of lives when these natural events happen, particulalry landslides and flooding.
Regional Director Leo Van V. Juguan informs audiences during two fora in line with the Women’s Month – personnel of PENRO/CENRO Iloilo on March 28, 2012 and DENR-6, and Government Information Officers on March 30, 2012 organized by the Philippine Information Agency.
MGB-6 has continuously engaged in public discussions and information drive on geohazards with other government agencies and local government units.The agency tasked to map out areas vulnerable to landslides and flooding int he country, MGB emphasizes that we should be prepared and to do this, we should arm ourselves and the most vulnerable communities with the correct information on geologic hazards.
The battle cry is: WE CANNOT PREVENT NOR EXACTLY PREDICT THE OCCURRENCES OF GEOLOGIC HAZARDS. BUT, WE CAN PREPARE AND SAVE OURSELVES, FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES… (IEC Desk)
