MGB-6 urges planners and policy-makers of municipalities and cities in the provinces of Negros Occidental and Iloilo to heed warnings and advisories on geohazards issued by MGB-6, particularly rain-induced landslides and flooding.
Regional Director Leo Van V. Juguan reminded municipalities and cities of Negros Occidental and Iloilo during the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) and Zoning Ordinance (ZO) planning activities held separately by the two provinces assisted by the Housing Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB).
RD Juguan presented the Geohazard Assessment of Negros Occidental during the HLURB conference on March 6, 2012. For Iloilo, the conference was on March 19, 2012 at the Sarabia Manor Hotel.The CLUP and ZO planning activities were attended by the Sangguniang Bayan chairs for land use planning and municipal government personnel tasked in the preparation of CLUPs and ZOs.
